3 Movies that will make you think a little bit

My favourites genres of movies are documentaries and cartoons. It is hard to explain why and yes, I am addicted to them.  I was trying to remember some movies I saw in the past which are related to environmental problems and its possible solutions. One movie that really caught my attention was “An inconvenient Truth“.  Al Gore talks about climate change and CO2 levels. I remember the famous scene where he stepped on a manlift and pointed the big size graph of temperature of the earth versus CO2.

Another movie was Tapped. The movie talks about the access to clean drinking water as a commodity. It was so intense to me that after I finished to watch the movie I was speechless. I went to their website to see if I could get more information.

Tapped is a 2009 documentary film which talks about the problems occurred in US. However, in 2013 guess what happened? Canada had the same problem! So it is clear that will be a global trend.

These two movies I saw a couple of years ago. Last week I saw a movie called Food=Waste. The movie is about the ideas of the German chemist, Michael Braungart, and the American designer-architect William McDonough. They are changing the way of production with the idea: “waste is destruction of capital”. It is a really simple idea but at the same time it is really hard to put in practise. The documentary is based on the book called Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things. The book is from 2002 (more than 10 years old and still revolutionary) and I’ve never heard of it until last week. Of course I went to the public library and I should start the reading of the book this week.  Company as Ford and Nike are working with McDonough and Braungart to change their production facilities and their products (in order to make more money of course).
